A pin down screen is a screen where the screener sets a screen angled towards the baseline. The goal is to create an advantege for a player to get open at a high position for an open shot, or for a curl towards the basket. Compared to a down screen, the pindown is usually set as low as possible (Close to the baseline) to create enough space for the offensive player to get open towards the ball.
